When should I consult an animal behavioural specialist?
There are many good reasons to schedule a consultation. In general, we recommend that our clients make an appointment if their pet is acting abnormally, or if they are unable to manage their pet’s behaviour despite their best efforts. Disruptive behaviours include:
- Aggressive behaviour toward people or other animals
- Signs of anxiety (constant barking or meowing, hiding, excessive licking or scratching)
- Destructive behaviours
- Loss of appetite
- Excessive urination
